The decision to take that step is never an easy one and comes at a significant investment of time, money, blood, sweat, emotions and yes sometimes even tears … Not to mention the uncertainties and risk of a fast changing technical landscape that we are navigating and trying to outpace if possible ! Keeping aside all the business reasons to create Synaptix, such a step is only possible when - You recognise your weaknesses and find Co-Founders who balance them and hand hold you during those tough times … - Your co-founders are signed up to the fact that there is no plan B and Plan B is plan A! (As is your family!)😄 - You sign up to the possibility of failing (preferably fast if you have to ! 🙈)... knowing you would have learnt so much even if you did indeed not make it this time around ... - You are prepared to be scrappy and hustle and leave your ego of the big consulting and tech firm logos you’ve been buoyed by , throughout your career, at the door, and embrace the ‘non entity’ you are to begin with … and even relish it … - Lastly - on the question of all the ageist judging - not all startups are about 20 somethings dreaming about being the next Zuckerberg … some are measured … and thought through… and carry with them the experience and warm connects only women on the wrong side of 45 who are not afraid to YOLO can bring … During this festive season in the lead upto Diwali , it’s worth saying - if you start on the right note and with the right intention, and all you care about is something as basic as ‘Positive Impact’ - on your clients, your co-founders, your employees and your partner ecosystem, the rest WILL and DOES fall into place. Here’s our final week of India in meetings in restaurants and hastily booked meeting rooms … Wasn’t all work - we played some as well … but progress made and steps taken in the right direction ! 💪
